On The Road: Kerouac

Okay, so I've thought no more cats. We have saved enough. But in the cold past winter, when the snow was three feet deep across our land, a large dark cat showed up against the white. he hung about and slept somewhere who knows and we finally caught him and took him in. That was Hobo Joe, who graces the banner of this blog.

Okay, so now I thought no more cats. Then this week my son comes into the bed room late in the evening and holds out a tiny white creature. It had been hiding under the carts by the parking lot where he works, shivering and alone. This minute white with gray spots kitten, less than a month old. A skinny creature on the road with nowhere to go but to disaster.

My son was apologetic for bring yet another cat here. No need. This is too much the trouble with this world that we feel compelled to often apologize for doing the right and decent thing.

Thus now we have a new cat, Kerouac.

Okay, so now I'm thinking no more cats.

There is a special place in Heaven for you and your family Lar for all that you do to save these critters who are so in need. Thank you from all of us who love and care for the domesticated animals who depend on us.
